Noise Solutions for ATVs and Off-Road Vehicles

Molded Foam

Our POLYFORM® Molded Foam, developed by our PMP Division, takes polyurethane foam to the next level by molding it into unique shapes. Molded foams serve various purposes and help solve thermal challenges. POLYFORM® can be used to create engine covers, insulation panels, overmolding for hand grips, molded shields, gap closeouts, and other components for grip, crash protection, and cushioning.

Molded Rubber

Our customers appreciate that we offer a variety of hoses for air/fluid transfer and molded rubbers to minimize airborne noise and maximize operator comfort. All parts are custom designed through collaboration with our engineering team.

Here are a couple options we offer for noise reduction and other acoustical needs.

• Floor Mats–POLYDAMP® Acoustical Barrier Floor Mat consists of a loaded vinyl acoustical barrier, a non-skid abrasion-resistant wear surface, and a decoupler layer. Customers can choose between Ribbed (PAB-RB), Pyramid (PAB-PY), and Modified Twist (PAB-MT) surfaces.
• Molded Parts–Our custom molded rubber parts create the highest-quality experience for any ATV operator. Such items don’t eliminate all noise, but they help reduce its amplitude by minimizing the sound traveling up through the floor or outside the vehicle.

POLYDAMP® Acoustical Foam (PAF)

One of our most popular options for acoustical control is the POLYDAMP® Acoustical Foam (PAF). PAF offers sound absorption while providing excellent heat, moisture, and chemical resistance. Ether foams offer excellent resistance to heat, moisture, and chemicals while being hydrolytically stable. One of the helpful features of our molded acoustic foam is the inclusion of a wide variety of film facings and pressure-sensitive adhesives.

POLYDAMP® Melamine Foam (PMF)

Polymer Technologies offers another molded foam product, POLYDAMP® Melamine Foam (PMF). PMF is an extremely lightweight material with excellent acoustical insulation properties. This option is perfect for vehicles looking to dampen the sound of the very close engine block to the vehicle cab. Just like acoustical foams, our melamine foams also come with a wide variety of film facings and pressure-sensitive adhesives.
